Campaigns and catalogue
The marketplace offers two independent, paid ways to buy additional visibility. Ad slots always belong to one marketplace; you choose it first and then see prices and free slots. The prices are shown in the Seller Center at the time of booking and deliberately not in this handbook. All advertising prices are net prices; the checkout shows VAT as a separate line, following the same rules as for the commission (see Taxes).
Campaigns
An ad slot in the header area of a marketplace's home page. You book under Campaigns: marketplace, an image, the region, the duration (7, 14 or 30 days) and, optionally, one of your products running there. With a product the campaign leads to its product page, without one to the marketplace's shop filtered to your brand. At booking the amount is only reserved via Stripe, not charged. On the marketplace the campaign carries the label "Advertisement" with your brand name.
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Payment due | you have booked, the payment process is not yet complete |
| Under review | the amount is reserved; we may look at the image and advertising claims for up to 48 hours |
| Active | after the review period, at the latest 48 hours after booking or earlier if we approve before then, the amount is collected, and the duration starts then; the review time is not lost to you |
| Rejected | the reservation is released, nothing is charged. You receive an email with the reason and the way to lodge a complaint against it |
| Expired | the duration is over |
Creator Center
A product sits at the very top of the Creator Center product list for a booked period, with the badge “Recommended by the brand”. Every creator sees it first. We currently do not offer this placement for booking in the Seller Center menu; placements already booked run until their end. This is how it was built: marketplace, one of your products with a commission rate, start date and duration (7, 14 or 30 days), price per day, paid in advance via Stripe, ends automatically, at most five placements at a time per marketplace, one per product. A placement promises visibility, not promotion: whether a creator picks the product up is their own decision.
Catalogue
A public directory in which you can also register without a Shopify or Stripe connection, meant for brands that do not (yet) sell through the marketplace but only want to be promoted. Under Catalogue there are three parts:
- Choose the marketplace. Your catalogue page appears on exactly one marketplace; which one decides who sees it. We look at every choice before you appear in the catalogue. You cannot undo it yourself; write to us for that. You also enter what stands next to the catalogue: country of origin and categories for the filter.
- Design your spread. You choose one of the catalogue's templates or design freely, see the preview and publish. Every catalogue has its own templates and its own spread per brand.
- Book a position. One of the first five spreads in the catalogue, for a region, from a date, for a number of months. The price is calculated on the actual days of the period. If a position is taken, you see until when. A booked slot without a designed catalogue page would be paid advertising for an empty page; the Seller Center warns you about it. A booked position carries the label "Advertisement" with your brand name on both pages of the spread, and the preview in the Seller Center shows it too.
Clicks on your directory entry are counted and shown to you in the Seller Center as a daily statistic. We store event, target address, time, region and a counting key of the person clicking that changes daily (a hash formed from their IP address or a session identifier of the browser), never the IP address itself and no link to an account. We charge at most one click per day and visitor, and at most 200 a day per counting key and brand; further clicks appear in the statistic but cost you nothing. The individual clicks are kept for 120 days, after that only the daily totals. Billing is monthly by SEPA direct debit, using the mandate from Settings. That is the only place where we debit your account.
Catalogue brands do not sell anything through the marketplace: no orders, no payout, no commission, see What the marketplace does.
Catalogue commission
If a click from the catalogue book leads to your own shop and the customer orders there within 30 days, we charge a percentage of that order's net merchandise value (excluding shipping and tax). The rate is fixed per marketplace and frozen at the time of purchase; you find it in the Seller Center under Catalogue. Billed monthly in arrears by SEPA direct debit, as a separate charge next to the catalogue clicks. Attribution uses the first address the customer opens in your shop; if they buy days later on another device, we do not see it. This requires our Shopify app with read access to paid orders; we read the order number, merchandise value and origin, no customer data.
Which orders we attributed, what we charge for them and the status of the monthly statement are shown in the Seller Center under Catalogue, tab Sales.
