What an order sets in motion
Every order takes the same path:
- Payment. The customer pays at checkout (payment provider: Stripe). The amount due is calculated on the server, from your product prices plus any creator discounts or redeemed credit (see Discounts and creators). It does not come unchanged from the customer's browser, so it cannot be manipulated.
- An order is created, one per brand. If a customer buys products from several brands in one
basket, a separate order is created for each brand:
- If you are connected via Shopify, the marketplace creates the order directly in your Shopify store (with shipping address and line items). It appears there like any other order.
- If you manage your products manually (without Shopify), the order exists only in the Seller Center.
- Shipping. You ship the goods yourself and enter the tracking number in your usual system (Shopify, or otherwise the Seller Center). The marketplace picks up the tracking number and status automatically and shows them to the customer in their order portal.
- Emails to the customer. The customer receives an email from the marketplace that her order has been received, and another one as soon as you have shipped. Nothing changes in your usual order process. To you, the order looks like a sale through any other channel.
